Having to see beautiful green surroundings every day when you wake up and come back from a hectic day of work is an immensely satisfying feeling. Not just because of the aesthetics factor, but because of the other things it contributes to in your life.

Expert studies have shown that plants can help you feel happier and boost your mood just by being around. They are your loyal companions that can bring a great difference to your health and also to the overall value of your home.

No doubt that they call for immense love and care in return. And, I do agree that it can get overwhelming at times. However, considering the benefits you get to enjoy with a few extra chores is really worth it.

In case, you are a newbie to planting but long for a well-flourished and manicured lawn of your own, following care instructions might help you –

  1. Buy the Right Plant

Irrespective of how enthusiastic you are to grow beautiful trees, some of them may not just be a good fit. That is not because you lack green instinct, but they are not meant to be there. Gardening experts are always stressing on ‘right planting at the right place’ when making a choice. So, despite how badly you want the roses inside your house, you can never have it. It is best to contact your local garden centre to suggest the plant that can bloom in your kind of climate.

2. Control the Light

Your green best friends do need sunlight to carry on their photosynthesis, but anything that is beyond a certain limit can be dangerous for their lives. Generally, the plant nurseries you purchase from explain the restrictions – full sun, partial sun, dappled sun, or shade. So, when you install the plants, you have to look for suitable areas in and around your house.

3. Leave them Untouched

Plants are extremely sensitive to change. They anyway take a long time to adapt to new environments so constantly changing their placements or making adjustments to their heights is not a sensible move at all. Depending upon what location is best for your plants; just let them root there and become big. If you want to change, go slow.

4. mBe Vigilant Over Bugs

You cannot even imagine how much damage insects cause to plants. Viruses and bacteria somehow enter a plant and damage it inside out. Insects are the biggest transmitters for viruses and attack on plants. Hence, keep a constant eye on them and take all precautionary measures to prevent any diseases.

5. Use the Correct Fertilizer

We all know how much good soil matters for the health of plants. So, it must be a mix of moss, organic matter, and fertilizers. But, never overdo or else you can burn the roots making the plants more susceptible to drought, cold, and heat. It is best to have your soil tested by some expert and then take the advice on nutrient levels as required.
