Seeing beautiful green surroundings every day when you wake up and return from a hectic work day is an immensely satisfying feeling. Not just because of the aesthetics factor but also because of the other things it contributes to in your life. Expert studies have shown that plants can help you feel happier and boost your mood by being around. They are your loyal companions who can make a great difference to your health and the overall value of your home. No doubt that they call for immense love and care in return.

And I do agree that it can get overwhelming at times. However, considering the benefits you enjoy with a few extra chores, it is worth it. In case you are a newbie to planting but long for a well-flourished and manicured lawn of your own, following care instructions might help you –

Article Summary show
1. Buy the Right Plant
2. Control the Light
3. Leave them Untouched
4. mBe Vigilant Over Bugs
5. Use the Correct Fertilizer

1. Buy the Right Plant

Irrespective of how enthusiastic you are to grow beautiful trees, some may not just be a good fit. That is not because you lack green instinct; they are not meant to be there. Gardening experts always stress the ‘right planting at the right place’ when choosing. So, despite how badly you want the roses inside your house, you can never have them. It is best to contact your local garden center to suggest a plant that can bloom in your climate.

2. Control the Light

Your green best friends need sunlight to carry on their photosynthesis, but anything beyond a certain limit can be dangerous for their lives. Generally, the plant nurseries you purchase explain the restrictions – full sun, partial sun, dappled sun, or shade. When you install the plants, you have to look for suitable areas in and around your house.

3. Leave them Untouched

Plants are susceptible to change. They take a long time to adapt to new environments, so constantly changing their placements or adjusting to their heights is not a sensible move. Depending on the best location for your plants, just let them root there and become big. If you want to change, go slow.

4. mBe Vigilant Over Bugs

You cannot even imagine how much damage insects cause to plants. Viruses and bacteria somehow enter a plant and damage it inside out. Insects are the biggest transmitters of viruses and attack plants. Hence, keep an eye on them and take all precautions to prevent diseases.

5. Use the Correct Fertilizer

We all know how much good soil matters for the health of plants. So, it must be a mix of moss, organic matter, and fertilizers. But never overdo it; otherwise, you can burn the roots, making the plants more susceptible to drought, cold, and heat. It is best to have your soil tested by an expert who will advise you on nutrient levels as required.
